VERSO / vol.3, no.8: Animals

  • Mezrab 576 Veemkade Amsterdam, NH, 1019 BL Netherlands

VERSO / is a monthly literary journal of our city’s and our world’s best editors, writers, artists, and thinkers, in live-form poems, stories, essays, interviews, reviews, and more. Volume 3, "Obstacles", turns to topography in its many shapes and materials. Our eighth edition this season, "Animals", is curated by the talented Isabella Rozendaal.

Animals and topography are linked, inextricably, by definition. The animal, evolved into its current form through the very shape of its earthly surroundings, lends an ever-recurring metaphor to the story of humanity. The animal mirror obliterates the faint, fictitious boundaries between human and nature by revealing our connection to the earth we arise from and cannot escape. In this edition of Verso, we explore the many shapes of the animal, without and within, in an attempt to map our own nature.
