Afrovibes works tirelessly to find the movers and shakers of Africa's performing arts scenes and gives them a platform to show their talents to audiences who may have otherwise never heard of them.
The festival is the core of Afrovibes, taking place both in the Netherlands and the UK in over 20 cities.
For the 2014 edition, artistic director Sibongeleni James Ngcobo wanted to honour the 20th anniversary of South African democracy by uncovering who the heroes and icons are for this new generation and allow them to tell their stories.
The selected mix of performances is a balance between classically influenced productions and contemporary, grounded works that show the diversity of Africa.
Afrovibes consistently provides the necessary combination of expertise and practical know-how to create a festival full of rare, must-see performances for audiences in the Netherlands
